understanding structure and form

This week I continued to do drawings of leaves and understand there structure and form. I then continued to make a wire structure of a curled leaf and see how the 2D form transformed to 3D. I also am practising my knitting to improve it and possibly be able to manipulate it to further my exploration of the leaf.

Patterns and Shapes

This week I really wanted to understand the shape of the leaf and so began by doin some line drawings.

I then continued to look at the outline of one particular leaf shape, I decided to make patterns with this shape.

LEAVES

I've decided masks are confusing my project and so put them to one side at least for the moment. now i'm concertrating on just exploring LEAVES. Drawing and expermenting with them and seeing what patterns they make.

This is what i worked on today. It is a combination of the natural enviroment with the man made. What we see and whats realy there can sometimes be two different things. People aren't always who we see at first glance.

Day One Of my Blog

Being from Cork I'm still "Finding my Feet" hear in Limerick. Being in a new enviroment and new college situation i was a bit lonely. I liked the security of being at home in Cork, even thought when I was at home couldnt wait to spread my wings!
Having all those feelings obusaly effected my thinking hear in Limerick. But as I am passionate about art the miniute i got the project ideas started floating aroud in my head. I love patterns and pretty things and so I was naturaly drawn to things of that nature. I began to think of differt peoples identy as I saw all the different types of people walk down the street. I though how I showed my idienty and I relised I focesed alot of my time on what I wear. I looked at patteren on clothes. Then I thought I care what others think of what I wear. Then i thought its not about others its about confidence and comfort in what you wear. I though of false images people give of themselves and that maybe they feel they have to MASK themselves. So i'm thinking about how I can show the different people of the city through a series of masks????......................
